About the Work

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to familiarize yourself with the way that we work.

We believe that each of us wants to find fulfillment, internal peace, and connection, but sometimes problems get in the way. In the face of life’s challenges, it can be all too easy to define ourselves by what pains us and to gauge our self-worth by our problems. However, we work from the premise that you are not the problem; the problem is the problem. By changing our relationship to the problem we are able to stop defining ourselves as our problems or diagnoses, and allow space for emotional peace through a new understanding of self.

In our work together we will examine both the current pain and give voice to the past, connecting past to present in attempt to examine the whole individual. We may also discuss how factors such as family, culture and politics influence the problem. We see our roles as the therapist to be your witness and partner toward self-discovery and acceptance. The use of the therapeutic relationship allows for here-and-now insight into how you as the client relate and attach to others in your life. With this insight you can gain a sense of control over beliefs and behaviors that are no longer helpful to you.

If you are seeking support around past or current trauma, we welcome you and acknowledge the courage it takes to begin the journey. We believe that trauma therapy offers a safe, compassionate space to begin healing from painful experiences that may still impact your daily life, relationships, or sense of self. Trauma doesn’t just reside in memory—it can live in the body, emotions, and beliefs we hold about ourselves and the world. Through evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, EFT and AEDP, trauma therapy helps clients reconnect with their inner resilience, process what happened at their own pace, and move toward a life that feels more grounded, empowered, and whole. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions. We offer 15 minute free consultation sessions to help us better assess and understand your needs and desires for therapy.

Hi! I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in private practice in Los Feliz, California. I received my Masters of Science in Counseling from California State University Fullerton, and received additional training in Narrative Therapy, EMDR Trauma Therapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

Primarily I am drawn to this work because I find that working with a guide and witness in existential questioning builds creativity and opportunity for growth in our lives and who we are as individuals and in relationships with others.

I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families working through life transitions such as getting married, choosing to build a family, fertility, grief and loss, job and relationship transitions, and end of life.

In particular I find working with individuals and couples contending attachment trauma very gratifying. I am trained in EMDR trauma recovery therapy, which I use to help clients release from the grip of negative belief, painful memories, and alleviate symptoms of PTSD.

I especially enjoy integrating attachment-trauma therapy in my couples work.  I use a combination of AEDP and EFT therapies to support the repair and rebuilding of emotional attachment and well-being. Whether  the relationship is established, beginning, or navigating a transition such as getting married or adding children, building a stronger connection and mutual understanding is always the goal.

In addition to private practice I have served as the Clinical Director for young adult Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and as such have extensive training in working with adolescents and families who are navigating anxiety, depression, self-harm, gender identity, parent-child conflict, and drug and alcohol use.

My experience working in community mental health and intensive in/outpatient facilities have gifted me the experience of working with individuals, couples and families of diverse backgrounds. If I am not congruent with your personal experience, I am certainly affirmative and an advocate.

Choosing a therapist can be challenging. Remember that this is a relationship and look for someone whom you can feel safe with and whom you want to bring with you on our adventure in self-exploration. Feel free to call or email me for a free consultation to see if we are the right fit for each other.

Hello!

I understand the pain that deep-rooted beliefs can carry, the way they can be unexpectedly triggered, and the guilt that sometimes follows when setting boundaries. I am deeply curious about the origins of your stress, pain, or discomfort, as well as the trauma responses and coping mechanisms you’ve developed over time. In collaboration with my clients, I create meaningful treatment plans based on your unique struggles, goals, hopes, and preferences. Together we work to shift old survival patterns, ease anxiety while building clarity, and cultivate greater self-trust and compassion.

I offer creative, trauma-informed care, working primarily with Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Narrative, and arts-based approaches.

I believe therapy is a place to unmask and have your emotional needs met without having to “hold it all together.” You are the expert of your own life, and I consider it an honor to provide a safe space to support your courageous work.

I bring both personal and professional experience into my work within today’s mental health and healing landscape. As an advocate for balancing what I call self-space-life care, I specialize in:

  • Clutter, Disorganization, Compulsive Behaviors, Hoarding, Neurodivergence/ADHD, Anxiety
  • Codependency, Addiction, Substance Use, Recovery, Sober-curious
  • Complex Trauma, Relationships, Family Dynamics; Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents, Alcoholics, or Dysfunctional Families (ACOAs)

I enjoy working with:
